What are the different types of sheep trailers?

Do sheep trailers include living quarters?
Yes, some sheep trailers include living quarters. True to their name, living quarters sheep trailers have an apartment-like living area that typically includes a sleeping area, kitchen, and bath. Some trailers come with luxurious living spaces, while others may be more functional. Non-living quarters trailers are typically lower priced and may have more space for your livestock.
How long is a livestock trailer for sheep?
Livestock trailers for sheep can be anywhere from 20 to 40 feet. long, depending on the make, model, and style. A livestock trailer with living quarters is typically longer than one without one. Living quarters trailers are often used by owners who spend a lot of time on the road with their sheep. In general, gooseneck style trailers are longer than bumper pull trailers due to their stronger towing system. If you have a large herd of sheep to transport, a gooseneck trailer may be a good option because of its high weight capacity. This style is also very stable and easy to maneuver on the road for long distances. Bumper pull trailers are a good choice for smaller herds of sheep; they’re also simple to hook up to the towing vehicle.
Are aluminum trailers better than steel?
It depends on your needs and priorities. Many owners prefer aluminum trailers for their livestock because they are lightweight, durable, easy to maintain, and highly resistant to rust. If you have a steel trailer, you will have to monitor it closely to make sure that manure, hay, and water are not causing rust. Most aluminum trailers are made from alloys that are from different types of metals such as chromium, copper, titanium, and zinc. One of the most common types of aluminum used for trailers is 5356 metal, though many trailers use a selection from the 5000 or 6000 metal series. Alloys in 6000 series aluminum can be treated using heat, whereas 5000 series aluminum must be cold treated (also called strain-hardening).
Some aluminum trailers are built with a steel frame for extra durability; rust tends to occur less often on the frame. Other aluminum trailers may feature a powder-coated finish that prevents rust.
