RV Review: 2022 Renegade Verona

The Verona is a well-appointed, luxury motorhome that is built on a Freightliner M2 chassis, giving it a 20,000-pound towing capacity. Let’s break down our review of the 2022 Renegade Verona.

2022 Verona Floorplan Review

The Verona comes in four floorplans, ranging from 34 to 40 feet. These floorplans are:

• 2022 Renegade Verona 34VQB
• 2022 Renegade Verona 36VSB
• 2022 Renegade Verona 40VRB
• 2022 Renegade Verona 40VBH

The Renegade Verona 34VQB has a queen bed and queen slide-a-bed sofa. The Renegade Verona 36VSB replaces the queen size bed with a king. The Renegade Verona 40VRB adds a rear bathroom, while the Renegade Verona 40VBH adds bunk beds. There is an overhead cab option in all models that has a skylight and a TV with speakers and a 350-pound capacity, making it ideal for kids.

Drive Confidently: Safety Features

The 2022 Renegade Verona puts safety front and center on this RV. There are turn signal cameras on both the left and right sides. These are always appreciated when you’re trying to change lanes or navigate a turn. 

The Renegade Verona also features 22.5-inch wheels and high-definition LED headlights and fog lights, both designed to increase your safety on the road. Both sides are equipped with side and convex mirrors that are power-adjustable. The back of the RV features a backup camera and a camera for towed vehicles. The Verona has the Freightliner Safety Assurance Package, which includes lane guidance, enhanced cruise control, electronic stability control, and collision mitigation. The aluminum cab is designed and tested for occupant safety. LP/CO & smoke detectors are installed and the RV is equipped with a fire extinguisher.

Built Strong: Construction and Performance

The 2022 Renegade Verona is built on a Freightliner M2 chassis, giving it a 34,300-pound GVWR and a 60,000-pound GCWR. For 2022, the engine has been boosted to 360 hp with 1,150 ft/lb of torque. As mentioned earlier, the RV has a 20,000-pound towing capacity. The engine is paired with an Allison electronic 6-speed transmission.

• Air brakes with 4-wheel ABS and auto slack adjusters

• Dual 50-gallon aluminum fuel tanks, total of 100-gallon capacity

• Premium Freightliner heat/sound insulation package
• Power driver/passenger windows and door locks

The 2022 Renegade Verona is constructed not just to be strong, but with comfort and safety in mind. These features include:

• 2” vacuum laminated sidewalls w/ welded tubular aluminum framing
• 1.5” high-density foam insulation in sidewalls & roof
• Welded aluminum-framed wall cutouts
• Welded tubular aluminum roof truss system w/ framed cutouts
• One-piece crowned fiberglass roof surface

The Verona's signature "Super Sandwich” floor construction with galvanized vapor barrier includes:

• 3/4” fir plywood deck over 2 x 4 wood-framed residential floor
• 2” welded steel floor Joist system
• Mounted to 3” steel longitudinal floor beams
• 3.5” premium grade ROXUL sound deadening and thermal insulation in floor

Extra attention is paid at every level, such as the exterior storage door having double latches and being insulated. Wiring in those storage areas is wrapped and managed. Everything speaks to the craftsmanship you should expect.

The RV is also equipped with an Aqua-Hot hydronic heating solution for both your heating and hot water needs and a 50-amp shore cord to plug into shore power.

All 2022 models of the Verona have a 150-gallon freshwater tank, a 75-gallon blackwater tank, and a 75-gallon grey water tank.

Renegade Verona Interior Features

One of the first things one may notice walking into the RV is that the entry is made of solid, washable materials, not carpet that collects dirt, moisture, and eventually mildew. The entry uses the same LVT plank flooring that is used throughout the Verona.

Looking first at the cockpit, you immediately see the leather driver and passenger seats made by Mastercraft Furniture. These comfortable seats feature armrests and can recline. The steering wheel is fully adjustable up and down, in and out. The instrument cluster is well lit and easy to read. Just beside it is your electronic transmission and switches for the fog lights and tow camera. The 2022 models feature an upgraded Garmin touchscreen that includes Bluetooth, GPS, RV maps, and a color camera monitor.

Walking back, it’s worth noticing that everything is accessible even with the slide-outs retracted. The full-size refrigerator, the bathroom, and the kitchen are able to be used in transit. There is a 7-foot ceiling height throughout.

The living room area features a leather sofa that is equipped with seatbelts for three. The sofa converts to a queen bed and has both 110v and USB outlets next to it. The windows are equipped with both day and nightshades, giving you flexibility on how much light you want to let into the living space. The living room also features a 43 in LED smart TV with a soundbar.

Renegade Verona Kitchen Features

The kitchen in the 2022 Verona is fully equipped. The stainless steel appliances include an 18 cu. ft. Samsung French Door refrigerator with ice maker and a full-size microwave. The kitchen features a recessed 2 burner electric induction cooktop, solid surface countertops, and a deep sink. The Ultra-Soft Dinette is convertible into a bed. Cabinets are soft-close, and the pantry has pull-out drawers and shelves.

Renegade Verona Bathroom Features

The Verona features a color-coordinated fiberglass shower with a glass door and a skylight over the shower. A deluxe bath faucet with an adjustable showerhead allows for a wide range of users to use it comfortably. There is a porcelain macerator toilet with a push-button flush and a full medicine cabinet among the other features.

Renegade Verona Bedroom Features

The beds feature an iRelax memory foam mattress and designer bedspreads. Over the headboard are LED reading lamps and a multiplex controller. Each side of the bed has a small shelf along with a 110v and USB outlet. The bedroom is equipped with a 32 inch LED smart TV with BluRay/DVD player.
