The top 5 small RVs of 2024
While we love our Class A and Super C RVs, we recognize that not everyone wants or needs a full-sized luxury home on wheels. We equally love helping customers find smaller-sized RVs and campervans that meet their size, accommodation, and maneuverability requirements. Small RVs are great for short–and long-term trips (depending on your lifestyle and expectations), accessible and remote locations, families of all sizes, and almost every budget.
We took the time to comb through the latest Class B and C RVs and campervans to find the five best small RV options for 2024.
Class B RVs
Class B RVs are usually smaller and more fuel-efficient than Class A or Class C RVs, and they are most likely the camper or van you would think of when you picture a small RV. Ranging from 18 to 24 feet in length, these smaller campervans don’t usually require a special storage space and can be parked in a standard parking space, making them an ideal choice for adventurous solo campers or couples who dream of traveling off the beaten path.
Winnebago Solis Pocket
The flexible, affordable, and adorable Winnebago Solis Pocket remains a perennially excellent choice for a small RV. With its unique and compact power system, a very cool Murphy platform bed, and versatile living space, the Solis Pocket packs a punch of features in a small but mighty package.
Available in two unique floor plans (the 36B and the 36A) with loads of features, including adjustable storage, a two-burner cooktop, a compact refrigerator, extended-season cooling/heat, and so much more, the 2024 Solis Pocket continues industry-leader Winnebago’s longstanding tradition of offering affordable, accessible adventure for everyone.
Winnebago Revel
Boasting improved off-road performance and more comfortable and enduring off-grid capabilities, the 2024 Winnebago Revel is better than ever. As the original off-road, off-grid adventure van, the Revel has a reputation to uphold that it continues to exceed with each passing model year. Its turbo-diesel engine and automatic overdrive transmission deliver 211 horsepower and over 330 pounds of torque on its AWD Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter chassis, making the Revel a rough and ready adventure in itself.
With features carefully selected to extend the off-grid travel season, including Winnebago’s 3M™ Thinsulate™ custom insulation, sleep technology, small-space wet bath, all-new molded water tank, loads of thoughtful storage, and an exclusive power system that takes off-grid power to the next level, the Revel is more than ready to go anywhere you dream of.
27North Venture
The 27North Venture is the up-and-coming challenger in the heated competition for the best in Class B/campervans. And considering the Venture’s sleek, modern interior and rugged outdoor capability, the incumbents are in for a fight. Inside the Venture, you’ll find leather seating, plenty of storage, and wood paneling/metal accents that make this camper feel like an upscale loft apartment.
Assembled on either a 144” or 170” Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, the Venture is an ideal off-roading workhorse. With additional lighting, an onboard air compressor, 350W of solar, a roof rack, and an awning, you’ll be sure to bring all your gear and make the most of the great outdoors in even the most remote locations.
Small Class Cs
The technical difference between a Class B and Class C motorhome lies in the chassis. Usually, Class Bs are built to fit within a customized van (often a Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit), while Class Cs are assembled on a truck or van chassis with an attached cab. Because of this, Class C spans a wide range of sizes, from those that are the same size as many Class Bs (just 21 feet) to some that are larger than Class As, the aptly named Super Cs (41 feet or more).
Many drivers report that thanks to the addition of slides and a larger chassis, Class Cs often offer the amenities and space of a Class A with the maneuverability of a Class B, making them an ideal choice for families and long-term or full-time RVers.
Winnebago EKKO
The Winnebago EKKO continues to combine campervan efficiency with the additional space and towing capacity of a class C, in an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Featuring dinette seating, a fully equipped, energy-conscious galley, a pantry, and a refrigerator/freezer, your Winnebago EKKO helps you feel at home in even the most remote locations. The WinnSleep® system, microwave, double-burner LP range cooktop, dry/wet bath, and added sleeping capacity make this a fun, family-friendly campervan.
Thanks to a lithium-ion battery, standard solar panels, and associated accessories, you can run almost any appliance without an external power source. And with 5,000 lb of towing capacity on its AWD chassis, you can also bring your boat, kayaks, mountain bikes for the whole family, or even hitch an additional camping trailer to your EKKO to maximize your outdoor experience truly.
Winnebago Navion
Occasionally referred to as a “Class B+” motorhome, the Winnebago Navion incorporates all the amenities of a class A into a class C. The Navion’s combination of comfort and drivability makes it a perfect adventure-mobile to make memories with the whole family.
Featuring enhanced off-grid capabilities, heavy-duty storage, and exterior enhancements that bring the outside in, the Navion offers comfort and style that can go just about anywhere. Available in three 25’6” floorplans (24D, 24J, and 24V) that sleep up to 4 people, the Navion is ready to take on the world whenever you are.
